Catering Manager – Café at Rugby Gymnastics Club
Our Mission
Rugby Gymnastics Club is a longstanding charity where local children and families come together to participate in our fantastic sport. We are building a café within a brand-new viewing area which we want to be welcoming space for our community, with tasty food and drinks for all. We want to design the café area and menu to appeal to our community with a strong focus on friendly and personal service.
The Impact You'll Make
As our Catering Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our café operations. You’ll ensure that our menu and service reflect the needs of our members and visitors for day-today operations as well catering to our needs at larger events. Your creativity will keep our offerings fresh, and your warmth will help to make customers feel right at home.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service.
- Plan and update menus to suit our members — from post-training snacks to family-friendly treats.
- Manage stock levels, place orders with suppliers, and minimise waste.
- Lead, train, and motivate a small team to deliver excellent service in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
- Co-ordinate catering for special events, competitions, and birthday parties within the facility.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and health regulations.
- Monitor sales, manage budgets, and look for opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in catering, café management, or hospitality leadership.
- A passion for, great-tasting, family friendly food and an understanding of dietary needs for active lifestyles.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- A hands-on, can-do attitude — willing to jump in wherever needed.
- Excellent people skills, with the ability to connect with customers of all ages.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and relevant certifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Food Hygiene).
