Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Stopper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing fire-stopping systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. This role requires a strong understanding of various construction disciplines, including roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, and masonry. The Fire Stopper will play a vital part in maintaining the safety integrity of commercial and residential structures through precise installation and inspection of fire-resistant barriers.

Responsibilities

Install fire-stopping materials in accordance with technical specifications and schematics
Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and install fire-resistant materials
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute installations
Conduct inspections to verify the integrity of fire-stopping installations and identify areas requiring repair or improvement
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency on-site
Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures during installation processes

Experience

Proven experience in construction-related roles such as roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work or masonry is highly desirable
Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and scaffolding systems
Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans is essential
Previous experience with fire-stopping systems or passive fire protection is advantageous but not mandatory
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and quality assurance
