Full job description

Lewis Tree Surgery York Ltd are a long established, family owned, arboricultural company based in York. We now require a groundworker and fully qualified lead arborist/climbers to carry out all aspects of arboricultural works in the York and surrounding areas.

We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, motivated individuals who work well as part of a team but can use own initiative when necessary. The role will involve working alongside and supporting colleagues undertaking all aspects of aerial and ground based arboricultural operations.

Please only apply if you have experience. We are not recruiting apprentices/trainees at this time.

Salary package:

Climber: £15 per hour (depending on experience)

Groundworker: £13 per hour

Climber duties to include but not limited to:

Pruning
Crown cleaning / dead wooding
Crown lifting
Crown reduction
Crown thinning
Felling
Pollarding
Climbing
Rigging

Our ideal candidate will have:

NPTC CS30 Maintenance of a chainsaw
NPTC CS31 Felling small trees
NPTC CS38 Climb trees and perform aerial rescue
NPTC CS39 Operate a chainsaw from rope and harness
Full UK Driving Licence (must have)

Desirable attributes are (not essential as training will be provided):

Manually fed chipper
CSCS Card
First Aid

Groundworker duties to include but not limited to:

Assisting climbers on site
Dragging branches to woodchipper
Operating the woodchipper
Loading vehicles and trailers
Cutting timber in managaable sizes
Logging timber
