Full job description

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic rehabilitation support worker?

Do you want to be part of an incredibly rewarding and person-centred approach to care?

If so, we are looking to grow Team Steps, where you will be caring for clients in their own homes and developing your skills as a rehabilitation support worker through our client specific training programmes - both online and in a bespoke classroom-based setting. When working independently with one of our clients, you will never be without assistance from us - thanks to our office team, who run a 24/7 on-call service.

The client is a cheerful and chatty young woman with a traumatic brain injury, requiring support in accessing the community and developing her independent skills. This role will provide an excellent opportunity to progress communication skills and promote social interactions in new environments.

We are looking for someone who will help the client to engage in the activities that she already thoroughly enjoys, such as swimming and dancing, and help her grow the needed skills for an independent lifestyle.

This role is based in Northampton and surrounding areas.

Female support workers preferred

Hours Available

We have a range of hours available, on a 2:1 basis, there may be an option to complete extra 1:1 shifts in the future - please see shift timings below.

16:00 - 20:30 on weekdays

10:00 - 20:00 on Saturdays

Responsibilities will include

· Meal preparation

· Support in accessing the community

. Assisting with the client's communication and social skills

. Promote dignity, respect, and independence at all times.

. Engaging the client in daily activities

Requirements for the position

· Acquired Brain Injury experience is preferred

· Six months health and social care experience is preferable; however, transferrable skills and personal experience will also be considered.
