QA Traineeship – Start Your Career in Food Quality Assurance
About the traineeship:
Looking for a way into a career in food quality assurance, no experience required? This traineeship is designed to take someone with the right attitude and turn them into a fully-trained QA Technician, through structured, hands-on learning alongside our experienced quality team.
You won't be thrown in expecting to know it all from day one. You'll be trained on everything from GMP audits to equipment calibration to quality documentation, building your skills step by step until you're confident running the full range of quality checks that keep our products safe, compliant, and consistent. It's a genuine grounding in food safety and manufacturing quality — the kind of practical experience that opens doors across the wider QA and technical field.
By the end of the traineeship, you'll have a solid, transferable skillset in food safety standards (HACCP, GMP), quality documentation, equipment checks, and non-conformance investigation, plus a clear next step into a QA Technician role and beyond.
What you'll learn and do:
- GMP auditing - warehouse, factory exterior, and office block areas
- Packing line checks to ensure products meet specification
- How to check and calibrate line equipment (weight checkers, metal detectors)
- Date coding and labelling checks for accuracy and compliance
- Traceability testing
- Sampling and quality/defect checks on daily production
- Raw material and packaging quality testing
- The full range of ongoing quality checks — metal detection, weight checks, seals, barcodes, best before dates, film alignment, glue traces, code positioning, case contents
- Completing quality paperwork accurately (Quality Finished Product and Check Weigh Forms)
- Batch-end procedures and stock reconciliation
- Supporting non-conformance investigations
- Eventually, training others once you're fully competent yourself
What we're looking for:
- No prior QA or manufacturing experience needed - full training provided from the ground up
- Genuine interest in food safety and how products are made to the right standard
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Comfortable learning to use measurement and checking equipment
- Clear written communication for completing paperwork accurately
- A proactive, team-player attitude and willingness to learn
- Ambition to build a long-term career in QA
