Due to the sustained growth of the Company we are looking to expand the Engineering and Maintenance department, in order further support the business progression.
The main purpose of the Control and Instrumentation Engineer role is to ensure PLC software and hardware is safely controlled, updated and adequate to maintain and improve plant performance and to ensure all instrumentation is controlled calibrated and fit for purpose. You will be expected to deliver solutions to problems using new and existing technologies and to at the forefront of both planned and reactive stops using the C&I skillset to diagnose and rectify issues.
You'll need to develop skills in specific control disciplines, such as:

advanced process control (APC)

distributed control systems (DCS)
-
programmable logic controllers (PLC)
-
supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).
The use of these disciplines will vary on site however, tasks and responsibilities can include:

designing and developing new control systems
-
testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems
-
Maintaining software back up, including disaster recovery for all aspects of the automated plant

Carrying out risk assessments, analysing data and presenting findings in written reports
-
managing operations
-
working collaboratively with other engineers, line technicians, stores, procurement and other internal staff
-
liaising with suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities
-
project management within cost and time constrained environments
-
understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards
-
providing advice and consultancy support and developing other engineers
-
purchasing equipment
-
writing computer software and test procedures
-
Providing technical support to HACCP studies and audits
-
developing new business proposals
To be considered for this role, you must have relevant electrical/software qualifications. Siemens experience on TIA, Step 7 and SIMATIC is advantageous, as well as 18th edition.
