Bank Contract: Working early, late, twilights and night shifts, 7 days a week
Location: Saint Michaels Hospice, Harrogate
Salary: £18.62 per hour, rising to £19.15 per hour

Your role as a Hospice Nurse

As a Hospice Nurse, you’ll lead by example in delivering high-quality, holistic care within our welcoming inpatient unit. You’ll provide vital support not just to patients, but to families and colleagues helping to create an environment of trust, peace, and compassion and work in a close-knit team where kindness, empathy, and clinical expertise truly matter.
This Hospice Nurse role is based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and is commutable from areas including Ripon, Leeds and York.
In this role, you’ll:
- Develop tailored care plans, administer medication and manage symptoms to ensure comfort
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and manage patient admissions and discharges
- Provide emotional support for patients and families, offering compassionate care
About you:
We are seeking a registered nurse who is not only clinically skilled but also deeply compassionate, someone who sees hospice care as a vocation, not just a role.
We’re looking for:
- A registered nurse with a valid nursing qualification, 2-years post-qualification experience and current NMC registration having passed your first validation
- A passion for palliative, hospice, or specialist ward care
- Strong communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach to complex care situations
- The ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team
