Care Support Worker – Ribble Short Breaks Service
Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks
Hours: Full‑time - includes some evenings and weekends - fixed shifts on a 3-week rolling rota
Salary: Care Level 2 - £13.73 per hour, with an additional £1.50 per hour supplement for weekend working
Total annual salary: £26,268.63 per annum
Holidays: 5 weeks annual leave plus 10 bank holidays

About the role
As a Care Support Worker at Ribble Short Breaks Service, you will:

Provide high‑quality personal care with dignity and respect.

Support individuals with mobility, communication, independence, and daily living skills.

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, person‑centred support.

Support the people we support to enjoy activities of their choice, including swimming, walking, cooking, leisure, and community engagement.

Keep accurate records and contribute to care reviews and quality‑of‑life planning.

Help maintain a safe, compliant environment through checks and audits.

Promote best practice, dignity, independence, and safeguarding at all times.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is:

Enthusiastic, respectful, and passionate about supporting young adults.

Able to stay calm under pressure and work confidently as part of a team.

Committed to promoting independence and choice.

Willing to undertake mandatory training and work towards the Care Certificate.

Flexible with working hours (including some evenings and weekends).
Experience in care, learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs is welcome but not essential. If you bring the right attitude, we will provide the skills.

Ability and willingness to assist students with their personal care requirements as needed, whilst maintaining their dignity.
Ability to support students in a way that promotes their independence and development in the education setting
NVQ 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or willingness to complete in an agreed timeframe.
Willingness to undertake and achieve Skills for Care Induction Award within 12 weeks if no formal care qualifications.
