CCTV and Alarm Technician Helper / Assistant (Bilingual: English & Tamil)

Job Description

Satfocus is seeking a motivated, hands-on CCTV and Alarm Technician Helper to join our expanding installation team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone eager to learn a high-demand trade, work with their hands, and build a long-term career in the security systems industry.

Because we service a diverse clientele, the successful candidate must be fluent in both English and Tamil to communicate effectively with our team and customers.

You will work directly alongside an experienced Lead Technician, assisting with the installation, wiring, and maintenance of CCTV cameras, intruder alarms, and access control systems for both residential and commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with Installations: Help mount CCTV cameras, alarm panels, motion sensors, and containment systems (conduit, trunking).
Cable Management: Run, pull, and neatly clip low-voltage cabling through walls, ceilings, and crawl spaces.
Tool & Inventory Management: Keep the company vehicle organized, ensure all necessary tools and parts are ready for each job, and handle loading/unloading.
Site Preparation & Safety: Ensure the workspace is safe and prepared before installation, and thoroughly cleaned up after the job is completed.
Learn on the Job: Pay close attention to system testing, programming, and troubleshooting procedures to rapidly develop your technical skills.

Requirements & Qualifications

Language Skills: Must be fluent in both English and Tamil (spoken language proficiency is essential for client communication).
Hands-on Attitude: Comfortable using basic hand/power tools (drills, screwdrivers) and working at heights on ladders.
Reliability & Punctuality: A strong work ethic and a commitment to showing up on time every day.
Communication Skills: A polite, professional demeanor when interacting with clients on-site.
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and maneuver in tight spaces (like lofts or crawl spaces).
Driver’s License: A valid driving license is highly preferred (or reliable means of transport to the main hub/site).
Prior experience in construction, electrical work, or data cabling is a plus, but not required—we will provide full training for the right candidate.
