Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Football Coach to support our school's football programme. This role involves assisting the head coach in training sessions, developing players’ skills, and fostering a positive team environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports coaching and teaching, with a commitment to student development and team success.

Duties

Assist the head coach in planning and delivering training sessions tailored to different age groups and skill levels
Support players in developing technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical fitness
Help organise team practices, matches, and other football-related activities
Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to players to promote confidence and improvement
Ensure all training activities adhere to safety standards and promote fair play
Support with administrative tasks such as maintaining attendance records and preparing equipment
Foster a positive team environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship

Qualifications

Proven experience in sports coaching, preferably within football or similar team sports
Strong teaching skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
Knowledge of football techniques, rules, and safety protocols
Ability to communicate effectively with players of varying ages and skill levels
A recognised coaching qualification or willingness to obtain one is desirable but not essential
Passion for youth development through sport and a commitment to fostering a supportive team atmosphere

Must be available on Thursdays 4:30-6pm

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
