We are seeking a dedicated Family Law Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our legal team. The successful candidate will support family law practitioners by preparing legal documents, managing case files, and ensuring smooth communication between clients and the legal team. Responsibilities
- Drafting and proofreading legal documents, including pleadings, and correspondence
- Managing case files and maintaining organised records of all case-related documentation
- Assisting with client communication, including scheduling appointments and providing updates on case progress
- Filing documents with courts and ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines
- Organising meetings, court dates, and other appointments using Microsoft Outlook
- Supporting attorneys with administrative tasks such as data entry and document management using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive client information at all times
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with clients, courts, and colleagues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) with strong organisational skills
- Good understanding of IT systems relevant to legal practice management
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English with clear articulation of ideas and legal terminology
- Organised approach to work with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a professional setting
