School Counsellor

Contract type: Self employed basis

Hours: Likely average of 6 appointments per week

Rate: £32 per 30 minute session, directly chargeable to parents

Start date: 1 September 2026

Closing date: 18 June 2026

Location: Dorton, Buckinghamshire

Ashfold is seeking to appoint a School Counsellor from 1 September 2026. This is support Prep-School aged children (5-13years). This person would be self-employed. The School Counsellor will not be part of the school staff so will be in a position to offer neutral, impartial support to all members of the school community.

This person would provide a highly confidential service to staff and pupils, but would naturally feed into pastoral and safeguarding conversations where necessary.

There is a likely average of 6 appointments per week, which could be split across the week or all on one day, to suit the appointee. You must be registered to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy OR equivalent Professional registration.
