We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Compliance Assistant to join our growing Business Support team.
With a positive and enthusiastic attitude, the successful candidate will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent organisational skills. You will need to be confident in managing a full workload and working to tight deadlines whilst maintaining high attention to detail.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Responsible for onboarding/client due diligence administration (including raising anomalies, ruling out false positive matches on electronic screening checks and ensuring that documentation is saved to the appropriate folders within our case management system (SOS)).
- Ensuring client due diligence is obtained in line with firm policy and that risk management processes are followed.
- Monitoring new clients and matters for individual lawyers and following up outstanding client due diligence on a weekly/bi-weekly basis.
- Assisting with file reviews and compliance spot checks.
- Assisting with the provision of guidance and support to staff in all matters relating to compliance, regulation and promoting good practice.
- Assisting with identifying training need and supporting compliance training for all staff.
- Assisting with data breach management.
- Updating the Head of Compliance as required.
- Keeping up to date with the latest anti-money laundering and regulatory guidance.
- To undertake continuing professional development as required by the firm or any other relevant body.
- To attend departmental and any other meetings as required.
- Undertake any other tasks which are consistent with the level and scope of the role, as may be reasonably requested by the firm.
Skills/Experience:
Applicants should have knowledge of, and previous experience with, AML regulations and KYC procedures. Ideally you will have law firm experience. The role requires a team player who is organised, has the ability to work under pressure and yet maintains good attention to detail. A professional approach along with excellent communication skills and the ability to use discretion will be necessary since the role will involve dealing with employees, partners and external agencies. Excellent IT skills and previous experience of team working is essential. You will also have a client-focused approach.

Pay: £24,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
