Company Overview
BioteCH4 are one of the leading AD operators in the UK, handling the collection and transportation of food waste, oils and fats recycling.
We own and operate a group of anaerobic digestion facilities across the UK. We also provide biological support, emergency response and feedstock supply to other operators within the industry. Our industry expertise means we not only have the knowledge and experience to deal with all the food waste the UK produces.

Key areas of role responsibility:
- Support, maintain, and optimise SCADA platforms across AD, CHP, and G2G operations.
- Diagnose and resolve faults across PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, industrial networks, and control systems.
- Improve operational visibility through effective alarm management, trending, reporting, and monitoring systems.
- Analyse operational and technical plant data to identify performance inefficiencies, reliability issues, process deviations, instrumentation faults, and data integrity concerns.
- Lead OT housekeeping and standardisation activities across multiple sites, including PLC backups, asset registers, network documentation, alarm rationalisation, naming conventions, and version control.
- Work closely with site operations and engineering teams to improve uptime, resilience, and performance of CHP engines, gas upgrading systems, feedstock handling, digestate processing, and associated utility infrastructure.
- Support integration between OT systems, historians, reporting platforms, and wider business or enterprise systems.
- Assist with plant upgrades, commissioning, expansion projects, and continuous improvement initiatives across the group.
- Ensure OT cybersecurity compliance and implementation of best practices, including secure remote access, network segmentation, and system resilience measures.
- Collaborate with IT teams, external system integrators, and automation contractors to deliver reliable and secure OT solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and improve technical documentation, standards, procedures, and change control processes.
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis relating to system failures or operational disruptions.
- Monitor and support industrial communication networks and protocols including Modbus, OPC, Profibus, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP.
- Interpret complex industrial datasets and translate findings into actionable engineering and operational improvements.
