We’re looking for exceptional swim teachers for casual (cover) work, with permanent positions available for the right candidate, who have the same passion, professionalism and patience for swim teaching as we do!

We use swim methodology not just from the UK, but also Australia and the USA.
We use the STA swim level badges & certificates.
Location
Huddersfield (HD3).
20 x 10 metre Pool maintained at 29 Celsius.
Interview
Face to face interview is around one hour and consists of questions based on swim teaching theory and practical knowledge. You will also be required to provide two lesson plans on STA swim levels we request.
If you pass the face to face interview, you are required to teach the lesson plans in an inwater interview lasting an hour (two classes/30 mins each) supervised by the manager. You will then also be required to demonstrate your own personal swimming abilities after teaching the classes.
Note: The face to face, inwater interview and interview process are part of our genuine recruitment process to ensure student safety and are unpaid. You will be observed by a senior instructor at all times.
What we can offer you
Payment is £18 - £22 hour depending on interviews, knowledge and swim lessons quality.
A contract! Not zero hours or freelance, unless cover work.
Holiday pay.
Statutory sick pay (if eligible).
Pay for setup/setdown of equipment (if required).
Statutory temporary lay-off pay in case of pool closures (t&cs apply).
Shifts available:
- Monday evenings. 2 hours. Teaching lessons 6pm - 7:30pm. The 0.5hrs extra covers the setup and setdown swim equipment either side. (HD3).
- Wednesday evenings. 2 hours. Teaching lessons 6pm - 7:30pm. The 0.5hrs extra covers the setup and setdown swim equipment either side. (HD3).
- Sundays 4.25 hours. Teaching lessons 9am- 1pm The 0.25 hrs covers the setup and setdown of swim equipment either side.
What we would like from you
Minimum 2 years experience and 5 years desirable swim teaching in the UK.
ASA or STA Level 2 qualification.
Must have an RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches (NRASTC) or the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification with at least one year left. To cover the spring and summer & autumn term.
Provide an Enhanced DBS check certificate. This can be from a previous company within last 3 years.
Must have references from previous UK employers. Preference is given to swim teachers with more experience.
Must be local or within a reasonable driving distance to commute.
Attend staff training.
Be open minded to other swim techniques and equipment - even if you're a 10 year+ experienced swim teacher extraordinaire!
Use same language when using teaching points. Such as "tiger tiger" for front paddling so all our lessons have uniform terminology.
Accept swim lesson observation/feedback every few months.
Teaching swimming lessons for children 4 years +. Mainly 4 - 5 year olds.
Teachers are required to teach in the water for the majority of classes.
Update student's progression records via our folders during lessons.
Must help with the setup and set down of equipment, floats, etc.
Shadow shifts required for around a month before taking over classes.
Must have up to date knowledge regarding swimming drills and technique. An "S" shape freestyle catch phase will not do!
Friendly, positive and professional manner with staff and customers. We want a friendly positive atmosphere!
6 month probation period required.
Must have maths, English & science GCSEs grade C (4) or above.
Must have two references available and any qualifications available upon request.
