Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction work. The successful candidate will gain exposure to different trades and develop essential skills in a supportive environment, working alongside experienced professionals. This paid apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to build a career in the construction industry while contributing to diverse projects such as residential, commercial, and industrial builds.

Duties

Assisting with fabrication and assembly of wooden structures and components using hand tools and power tools
Learning and performing joinery tasks, including cutting, fitting, and fixing timber elements
Supporting the installation of roofing, flooring, and wall frameworks
Assisting with construction painting, plastering, and basic masonry work as required
Handling heavy lifting safely and effectively to move materials around site
Supporting plumbing, electrical, or masonry trades as part of multi-disciplinary teams
Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to ensure safety standards are met
Following health and safety procedures at all times during site operations

Experience

No prior experience necessary; however, a keen interest in carpentry and construction is essential
Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools is advantageous but not required—training will be provided
Familiarity with fabrication, assembly, or joinery techniques is beneficial
Experience or interest in roofing, plumbing, masonry or electrical work is considered a plus
Physical fitness for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces is important
Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training in various trades within the construction sector

Pay: £24,420.00-£40,294.08 per year
