Full job description

Instrument Technology Ltd (ITL Vacuum) is a UK based company specialising in the manufacture of vacuum components. We supply a wide range of standard and non-standard components, fittings, and vessels within a range of industries across the globe, utilising vacuum techniques. These include semi-conductor, research, energy, medical and general industrial vacuum users.

We are recruiting for a part-time Assistant to the Accounts Supervisor. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Sales and Purchase Ledgers, although it is envisaged that there will be more of a focus on Purchase ledger, including:

Setting up and maintaining supplier accounts
Ensuring POs are appropriately authorised
Matching POs to delivery notes and invoices
Checking nominal ledger coding and entering matched invoices
Processing authorised invoices for payment
Preparing and processing payment runs to suppliers
Maintaining HSBC payment templates and issuing supplier remittances
Handling proforma and ad hoc payment requests
Posting payments to cashbook including credit card payments
Resolving supplier issues to ensure continuity of supply
Reconciling supplier statements
Managing purchase ledger filing and archiving invoices periodically

Although not always part of the daily routine, holiday cover will be required for cashflow reconciliations. This will include:

Downloading bank statements each morning
Reconciling cash availability from Invoice Finance
Liaising with colleagues to update daily reconciliation on Excel

Essential Skills:

A high level of numeracy and computer literacy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
Up-to-date working knowledge of finance packages, preferably Sage
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Confidence to liaise with outside parties by phone and email.

Salary dependent upon experience and number of hours

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13,000.00-£15,000.00 per year
