Fish Cutter Job Profile and Description
The occupation of a Fish Cutter requires the expertise of cutting, cleaning and aptly handling seafood. This role would typically suit someone with a background in Fishmonger, Butchery, Fisherman with experience in handling knives. Many of our successful applicants have previously worked in butchers and supermarkets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleaning, cutting, scaling, trimming, and filleting fish.
- Ensuring proper quality and standards are adhered to.
- Understanding the specific requirement of customers
- Ensuring proper storage of supplies as per the food and safety regulations.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the work area and the cutting knives and equipment.
- Minimizing wastage while cutting the fish.
- Delivering to the requirements of the chefs in restaurants.
- Preparing fish to chefs specifications
- Performing all tasks as delegated by the supervisors.
Skills and Specifications
- Knowledge of various techniques of cutting fish will be learnt.
- Should possess good communication skills for interacting.
- Should have the ability to use appropriate knives and tools for cutting fish.
- Should have basic knowledge on seafood cooking.
- Education and Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE level
- Interest in activities related to fish.
Hours of Work
Night Shift
- Working from 9pm to 6am - 5 nights per week
- Starting on 9pm Monday night at finishing Saturday Morning at 6am
