Overview
We are seeking a skilled CSCS Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and related trades, with the ability to work efficiently on various building projects. Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications to execute carpentry tasks accurately
- Fabrication and assembly of timber frameworks, fixtures, and fittings on-site
- Using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and install materials
- Performing joinery work with precision to ensure durability and aesthetic standards
- Assisting with roofing installations, repairs, or modifications as required
- Heavy lifting of materials and components safely in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Conducting construction painting where necessary to prepare surfaces for finishing
- Engaging in plumbing, masonry, or electrical tasks if required by project scope
- Collaborating with other trades such as electricians or masons to ensure seamless project progress
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, fabrication, and assembly processes
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and measuring devices
- Competence in operating power tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of roofing techniques and heavy lifting procedures on-site
- Basic understanding of plumbing, masonry, electrical systems, or construction painting is advantageous
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a construction environment
