Full job description

Overview
Haverfordwest Cricket Club is looking for an experienced and hands-on Club Steward to oversee our bar operations.

This full-time, permanent role is perfect for someone with proven bar and hospitality management experience who takes pride in running a welcoming and well-organised venue.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the bar, leading a small team, managing stock, and ensuring the club is ready for members, guests, and private events throughout the week and at weekends.

This is a hands-on bar role – applicants MUST have experience working behind a bar and supervising staff in a hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide a warm, professional welcome to our members and guests
Managing bar operations during opening hours, including during events and private functions
Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, and handling payments
Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the bar area
Supervising and supporting bar staff, including preparing and managing staff rotas
Monitoring and ordering stock - bar supplies, snacks, etc
Maintaining compliance with licensing laws and health & safety standards
Liaising with the Club Committee regarding bookings, events, and any facility issues

What we're looking for:

Proven experience as a leader in a bar or hospitality role
Hands-on bar experience is essential
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A hands-on, can-do attitude and the ability to work well under pressure
Strong customer service skills and confidence dealing with customers
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required

Hours

Full time, including evenings and weekends, with flexibility around booked events and functions

Start Date

ASAP

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.90 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
