Full job description

Overview
We are a family run busy restaurant/ pub And We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead my kitcen bringing exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a keen eye for food safety and presentation. This role offers the opportunity to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu development to staff management, ensuring high standards of quality and service are maintained at all times.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends whilst maintaining consistency and quality
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure dishes meet the highest standards of presentation and taste
Manage food production schedules to optimise efficiency and minimise waste
Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations
Train and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development within the team
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to control costs effectively
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area at all times

Requirements

Proven supervisory experience within a busy culinary environment, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, menu development, and current food trends
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
Previous experience in a leadership role within a professional kitchen is essential
Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to food service environments
A very much hands on role.

Pay: £35,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
