CAD Technician / Draughtsperson
Mezz Floors UK Limited is looking for an experienced CAD Technician / Draughtsperson to join our team at our factory in Haverhill, Suffolk.
We design, manufacture and install mezzanine floors, staircases, handrails, balustrades, pallet gates and associated structural steelwork for commercial and industrial projects across the UK.
This role would suit someone with experience using Autodesk Advance Steel, Tekla Structures, or similar steel detailing software.
The Role
You will be responsible for producing accurate drawings and fabrication information for mezzanine floor and structural steel projects.
Typical duties will include:
- Producing 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings
- Creating GA drawings, assembly drawings and part drawings
- Detailing mezzanine floors, staircases, handrails, balustrades and associated steelwork
- Working from site surveys, client drawings, engineer’s designs and project specifications
- Liaising with sales, design, production and installation teams
- Checking drawings for accuracy before issue
- Producing material lists and fabrication information
- Amending drawings following client comments, site changes or design updates
- Helping ensure projects are issued to the workshop accurately and on time
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience as a CAD Technician, Draughtsperson or Steel Detailer
- Experience using Advance Steel, Tekla Structures, or similar
- Ability to read and understand structural and architectural drawings
- Good attention to detail
- Experience producing fabrication drawings
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work to deadlines
- A practical understanding of steel fabrication and installation
Experience with mezzanine floors, staircases, handrails or structural steelwork would be a strong advantage.
Software Experience
Experience in one or more of the following would be useful:
- Autodesk Advance Steel
- Tekla Structures
- AutoCAD
Hours
Monday to Friday
Full-time, permanent position.
