Lead Painter, Decorator & Plasterer — Premium Renovation Company
Brackmere is a growing premium renovation and home improvement company working across Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. We specialise in high-quality residential projects, including decorating, plastering, refurbishments, exterior works and full home renovations.
We are looking for an experienced Lead Painter, Decorator & Plasterer to join the company on a full-time employed basis.
This is not a casual labouring role. We are looking for someone who takes real pride in their work, is presentable, reliable, professional with clients, and able to deliver a high standard of finish across both interior and exterior projects.
The role will mainly involve high-quality painting and decorating, both internally and externally, as well as plastering and making good where required. You must be confident preparing rooms properly, skimming walls where needed, carrying out plaster repairs, mist coating fresh plaster, decorating walls and ceilings, finishing woodwork, and leaving jobs clean, sharp and professional.
You should also be comfortable working from scaffolding for exterior decorating projects, including masonry painting, exterior prep, render repairs, fascias, soffits, windows, doors and general exterior finishing work.
The right person will be trusted to represent the Brackmere brand in clients’ homes, drive a company van, wear company uniform, keep sites tidy, communicate professionally, and help us build a reputation for premium workmanship.
Responsibilities include:
High-quality interior painting and decorating
Exterior painting and decorating
Plastering, skimming and patch repairs
Making good walls and ceilings before decoration
Mist coating fresh plaster correctly
Preparing, filling, sanding and caulking surfaces
Painting walls, ceilings, doors, frames, skirting and woodwork
Working from scaffolding where required
Keeping jobs clean, organised and professional
Driving a company van and representing the brand well
Supporting wider renovation and refurbishment projects where needed
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong experience in painting and decorating
Good plastering/skimming ability
Experience working on residential homes
Confidence with exterior work and scaffolding
A clean, tidy and professional approach
Good communication skills with clients
A full UK driving licence
High standards and pride in the finished result
The ability to work independently and manage time properly
Package:
£40,000–£48,000 salary depending on experience
28 days paid holiday including bank holidays

Bonus structure:
We reward high standards. Where a job is completed on time, within budget, to the required standard, and receives a 5-star client review, a performance bonus may be paid.
We also offer a referral commission for suitable projects introduced to the company, subject to the job being accepted, completed and paid.
