Job Purpose:
The Senior Mechanical Integrator provides technical leadership for the successful delivery of TAIT's complex fixed-installation projects, supporting world-class venues including theatres, entertainment venues, and cruise ships. Combining hands-on expertise with strategic planning, this role leads mechanical integration activities from concept through delivery while developing a high-performing integration team.
Based primarily in Haverhill, the Senior Mechanical Integrator plays a key role in strengthening operational capability and delivery performance for new-build fixed-market projects. Working closely with Engineering, Project Management, Fabrication, QHSE, and Project Leaders, they ensure mechanical integration work is planned, executed safely, and delivered to the highest quality standards.
This role focuses on building internal capability through technical leadership, coaching, and continuous improvement. The Senior Mechanical Integrator supports team development, improves project handovers, drives safety and quality standards, and helps reduce reliance on external labour by developing a skilled, reliable in-house team.
While primarily Haverhill-based, the role also offers opportunities to support onsite installations and international projects as required.
Job Responsibilities
Team management, coaching, and professional development

Responsible for onboarding and coaching of new mechanical team members, freelancers, and project-assigned labour.

Monitors & approves working time and variable hours to ensure compliance with all regional working time laws and business needs.

Project Leadership

Point person for team and organization during early phases of project implementation, bidding, and technical execution.

Works with leadership to staff the right person, on the right project, at the right time.

Coordinates shift assignments, time-off requests, and scheduling changes while minimizing conflicts.

Maintains connection with project teams to provide technical support and escalation path.

Jumps in to assist with technical delivery for risky/complex projects and elements.

Champions safety across department for activities both in the shop and on site.

Coordinate mechanical and controls integration readiness for assembly, FAT, strip-down, packing, installation preparation, and mobilisation.
Department & facility alignment and development

Completes local department initiatives in alignment with larger department goals and objectives.

Assists in coordinating and leading project kick-off meetings and post-project reviews.

Maintains responsibility for project hour estimates and team’s actual hours to proactively address potential overages, scope creep, and delays.

Builds strong relationships with other departments, clients, technicians, and other external stakeholders while promoting TAIT’s reputation for excellence

Provide local escalation support for integration risks, safety concerns, quality issues, and resource constraints

Skills-
Knowledge and understanding of entertainment and industrial automation technology.

Subject matter expert in mechanical systems, industry codes, standards, and installation best practices.

Advanced understanding of electromechanical systems, mechanical assemblies, and precision installation techniques.

Working knowledge of controls and electrical systems is desirable, but not essential.

Experience in the theatre and/or entertainment industry.

Demonstrated communication and leadership skills with multi-lingual and multi-national teams.

Previous experience leading and managing a technical team.

Ability to coach developing team members and raise consistency across a growing team.

Ability to assess mechanical installation risk and translate that into labour, schedule, tooling, access, and safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:-
NVQ, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent experience gained through the entertainment, live events, or industrial automation industries, demonstrating strong mechanical integration knowledge, will also be considered.
