Waking Night Support Workers Wanted for a Brand-New Children’s Home near Sudbury!

Sevello Children’s Homes are recruiting Waking Night Support Workers for their exciting new home in Cavendish.

Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can make a real difference? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a brand-new team and support up to 4 children aged 5–12, many of whom will have a diagnosis such as Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), ADHD, or Autism. You’ll be part of a caring, resilient, and dedicated team that provides a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment.

The Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, stability, and wellbeing of the children overnight. You’ll provide a calm and reassuring presence, manage any incidents that occur, and support children with morning routines so they start the day positively.

Salary & Shifts

Qualified: £30,764 per year
Unqualified: £28,157 per year

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off – excellent work-life balance
Shift Times: 22:00 – 08:00 (waking night shifts)
Annual Leave: 240 hours (30 days)
Location: Cavendish , Suffolk (village location – driving licence required)

Responsibilities

Provide consistent emotional and practical support to children during the night
Monitor the home environment to ensure safety and security
Respond appropriately to any incidents or emergencies
Offer a calm and supportive presence for children who may wake during the night
Support morning routines and handover to the day team
Follow care plans and safeguarding procedures to maintain the highest standards of care

What We’re Looking For

Passion for working with children and making a difference in their lives
Ability to build trusting relationships and provide emotional support
A positive, proactive, and patient approach
Full UK driving licence (essential due to rural village location)
Experience of supporting children with EBD, ADHD, or Autism (desirable but not essential)
Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce (desirable but not essential)
Willingness to complete Level 3 qualification through our Training Academy if not already achieved
