Semi-Senior AccountantAbout the Role

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Semi-Senior Accountant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with experience who is ready to take on more responsibility, work with greater autonomy, and grow toward a senior role.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with financial standards.
Liaise directly with clients to gather information, answer queries, and build strong working relationships
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances in a timely manner
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Assist with tax planning and advisory for clients, identifying opportunities to minimise tax obligations
Assist with the preparation of bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT returns.
Maintain and improve accounting procedures and
Support managers and partners on complex engagements and special projects
Review work prepared by junior staff and provide constructive feedback and guidance
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of taxation legislation and accounting standards
Contribute to workflow management and meeting filing deadlines

About You

Required:

Experience in practice within the accounting industry.
3–5 years of accounting experience (public practice or industry)
Progressing toward or holding a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA or hold AAT qualification)
Solid understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Iris, Taxcalc or similar)
Advanced Excel skills
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
