Overview

We are seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer for a one-month contract to provide technical assistance and support within our organisation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and troubleshooting our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across various platforms. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in computer networking, desktop support, and systems administration to contribute their expertise in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive technical support to end-users via help desk channels, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
Troubleshoot and resolve software problems across operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Manage and support Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and peripherals.
Utilise tools such as SCCM and ServiceNow to manage asset inventories and incident tracking efficiently.
Conduct network analysis using TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN configurations, and analyse network traffic for troubleshooting purposes.
Support remote connectivity solutions including VPNs and remote desktop services to facilitate secure access for users.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system updates, patches, and security measures.
Document all support activities accurately within ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy and Jira.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with users at all levels of technical understanding.

Experience

Proven experience in technical support or IT support roles within enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of computer networking principles including TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN architecture.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server administration and Active Directory management.
Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Experience troubleshooting software issues using tools like SCCM and ServiceNow.
Knowledge of security protocols including firewall management and VPN configuration.
Ability to diagnose hardware problems related to computer hardware components.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
Analytical skills necessary for problem-solving within complex IT infrastructures.

This role requires a proactive approach to problem resolution combined with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively within a tight timeframe. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality IT support services during the contract period.

Pay: £2,500.00-£3,500.00 per month
