The Role
Our Maintenance team work closely with the Residents at St George’s Park assisting with maintenance in and around the apartments and surrounding Village.
The Team undertake minor repairs and general maintenance of the Resident’s apartments and communal areas, ensuring the highest standard of working when performing some of the following duties:
- painting and decorating
- assisting with moving furniture and the distribution of deliveries
- Assist with the effective maintenance and servicing of the Organisations vehicle machinery and equipment
- Using the Organisation’s pool cars to drive residents to appointments such as hospital and dental visits
- Gardening and grounds maintenance (including snow clearance)
- Cleaning and maintaining the Resident’s Swimming Pool and surrounding area, including testing the chlorine levels of the swimming pool each day by way of a “dipping” method and backwashing when required.
- To assist with the setting up of functions and other occasions such as, Open days, summer fetes, social gatherings within the Convent.
- Changing smoke alarm batteries when needed
- Manually topping up the Boilers within the apartments when needed
- To check the heating systems and programmes
- Repairing drawers or cupboard handles
- To report any malfunction/faults/damage of equipment that may be deemed to be a hazard
- Clearing any toilet blockages
- General repairs to shower screens or bathroom fittings
- Setting up and clearing away of chairs in the Concert Hall
- Some minor landscaping work may be required
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a clean full UK driving licence and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Previous experience in moving and positioning, first aid, site Safety Awareness and Lifting and handling is desirable however training will be provided as part of the role requirements.

The Person
We are looking for a trustworthy individual with a basic understanding of most practicable building trades and sound knowledge of Health and Safety awareness.
