Full job description

The Castle has built an excellent reputation for quality, service, and presentation. Maintaining outstanding standards throughout the pub is essential, making this a highly important role within our team.

Overall Objective:

We strive to be market leaders, and achieving this depends on the quality of our products, service, environment, and, most importantly, our people.

This permanent part-time role would suit someone who is reliable, hardworking, trustworthy, and takes pride in maintaining high standards. We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude, and strong attention to detail.

Previous experience in a similar cleaning role would be beneficial, although it is not essential, as full training will be provided.

You will support the management team by ensuring exceptional cleanliness standards are always maintained and by contributing to the smooth and effective operation of the pub.

Your Working Week:

Permanent role
10 hours per week
Thursday to Monday inclusive*
2 hours per day
Start time anytime from 6:00am onwards
All cleaning duties to be completed by 9:00am
Flexibility with start times can be agreed
*From the 3rd week of November through to the 1st week of January (approximately 7 weeks), cleaning will be required 7 days per week due to the busy festive period.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Maintain exceptional cleanliness standards throughout all areas of the pub
Follow company procedures and ensure all relevant regulations are met
Support the team in maintaining standards required for internal audits.
Hold keyholder responsibilities, therefore honesty and trustworthiness are essential
Be comfortable working independently
The role involves being on your feet for up to 2 hours per shift, working across both ground and first floors, including stairs, so a reasonable level of fitness is important

Daily Cleaning Duties:

Cleaning all ground floor and first floor areas, including:
Vacuuming
Wet mopping
Light dusting
Full cleaning of 3 customer-facing bathrooms

Weekly / Periodic Duties:

Additional scheduled tasks may include:
High-level cleaning
Deep cleaning of designated areas within the building

Pay & Benefits:

£16.00 - £18.00 per hour
Equal share of gratuities, averaging approximately £4.00 per hour
28 days holiday per year (pro rata where applicable)
30% staff discount on food and drink for up to 4 people
Full training provided as required
