Are you an experienced and qualified Engineering Technician looking for a role where your skills directly support essential water services for local communities?
We are seeking motivated and safety-focused Technicians to join our team working across areas of Hampshire and West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity to work on critical infrastructure, treatment assets, pumping stations, and operational sites that help deliver safe, reliable drinking water every day.
We are looking for Technicians with experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
Mechanical maintenance and fault finding
Electrical systems and industrial installations
Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA)
PLCs, telemetry, control panels, and process systems
Pumps, motors, valves, pipework, and associated plant equipment
Preventative and reactive maintenance within industrial or utility environments
What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across clean water operational sites
Diagnose faults and repair equipment safely and efficiently
Support operational reliability and asset performance
Work on a variety of treatment works, pumping stations, reservoirs, and remote assets
Complete inspections, testing, and maintenance records accurately
Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures
Participate in standby or emergency response activities where required
What do you need?
Skills, Qualifications & Competencies
Experience within mechanical, electrical, or ICA engineering environments
Relevant engineering qualifications and recognised apprenticeship (essential)
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider operational team
Good communication and organisational skills
Commitment to high safety standards and safe systems of work
Ability to pass a safety-critical medical assessment
Capability to work in confined spaces and at height
Willingness to travel across operational sites in Hampshire and West Sussex
The successful applicant will be required to have a full UK manual car driving licence (Class B), will have to undergo a driving assessment, consent to ongoing driving licence checks and additionally any other safety measures deemed necessary by Portsmouth Water Ltd in connection with driving.
