Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paint Prepper and Refinisher to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting, refinishing vehicles or equipment with precision, and ensuring a high-quality finish. Your expertise in surface preparation, use of hand and power tools, and understanding of mechanical systems will be essential to deliver exceptional results. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where craftsmanship and attention to detail are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
Use hand tools and power tools to strip old paint, smooth surfaces, and make necessary repairs before refinishing
Apply paint, stains, or coatings with skill and precision using spray guns or brushes according to project specifications
Conduct heavy lifting of materials, equipment, or parts safely to support the refinishing process
Inspect finished work for quality assurance, making touch-ups or corrections as needed
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored after use
Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with workplace standards

Requirements

Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand equipment components and surface preparation techniques
Experience using hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, brushes, and masking tools
Proficiency with power tools including spray guns, grinders, drills, and sanders
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily tasks involving materials or equipment handling
Prior experience in surface prep or refinishing work is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
Strong attention to detail with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
