Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organised Shop Sales Assistant to join our retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with sales transactions, and maintaining the shop environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic retail setting, supporting both customers and the smooth running of daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their purchases
- Providing knowledgeable advice on products and services
- Operating the till system accurately and efficiently during sales transactions
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor and displays
- Managing stock levels, including replenishing shelves and recording stock movements
- Handling customer enquiries both in person and via telephone or email
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as logging sales data and updating records
- Supporting promotional activities and organising displays to enhance sales
Requirements
- Proven experience in customer service or retail environments is desirable
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Administrative experience to support record keeping and organisational tasks
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Friendly, approachable manner with a professional attitude
- Organised with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities
