Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee our organisation’s financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires knowledge of accounting software Sage50, and knowledge in financial management practices.
Duties
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll preparation but not processing as this is done externally.
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software Sage.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with recognised accounting standards.
- VAT reconciling quarterly.
- Monitor cash flow and optimise financial processes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies through regular audits and reviews.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.
- Oversee the company pension scheme and onboard new starters to enrol. Ensure the re-enrolment process is undertaken in a timely fashion.
- Answer office telephone from time to time, complete necessary filing and processing post.
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial management within a similar organisation.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software Sage, Xero, and other relevant programmes.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office, specifically excel.
- Extensive knowledge of accounts payable processes and general ledger management.
- Demonstrable expertise in preparing accurate financial reports and statements in line with regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA are preferred but not essential.
Pay: £20.00 per hour
