Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipe Fitter / Sprinkler Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems and sprinkler systems across various construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of schematics, welding techniques, and mechanical systems, with an emphasis on safety and precision. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic environment, utilising a range of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Duties
- Read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints to accurately install piping and sprinkler systems.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and fit pipes using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment such as MIG and TIG welders.
- Perform welding tasks including MIG, TIG, and other relevant welding techniques specific to <LOCATION> welding standards.
- Solder, assemble, and maintain plumbing components ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Install sprinkler systems in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of piping systems to identify potential issues.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed during operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter or Sprinkler Fitter within the construction or maintenance sectors.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, soldering, and other welding techniques relevant to <LOCATION> standards.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, assembly, maintenance, and construction processes.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fitting tasks.
- Experience working with plumbing systems and sprinkler installation is highly desirable.
- Good physical condition with the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces if required.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding or pipe fitting are preferred but not mandatory. Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
