Location: Remote (Newcastle/North East England preferred)
Hours: Approximately 2 hours per week, with occasional additional ad-hoc work available

We are looking for a reliable and technically capable WordPress Developer to support the ongoing maintenance and development of our four websites:
- North Automation Group
- North Conveyors
- North Robotics
- Pallet Exchangers
This role is ideal for a student, recent graduate, or early-career web developer looking to gain experience while working flexibly alongside their studies or other commitments.
The websites are already live and functioning. We require someone with WordPress experience who can help implement small improvements, resolve technical issues, and support the continued development of our online presence.Tasks will be managed through a shared spreadsheet and prioritised accordingly. The successful candidate will be assigned a small number of tasks each week, with priorities discussed and agreed in advance based on what is realistically achievable within the allocated two hours of that week.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement website updates and improvements across multiple WordPress sites
- Create and modify web pages using WordPress page builders and themes
- Make minor front-end design and layout changes
- Troubleshoot technical website issues and plugin conflicts
- Monitor website performance and site health
- Support ongoing SEO and user experience improvements
- Assist with WooCommerce updates and functionality where required
- Test changes before deployment to ensure websites remain fully functional
- Work with internal stakeholders to deliver requested website updates
Desired Skills & Experience
- Good working knowledge of WordPress
- Experience with WordPress themes, plugins and page builders
- Basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript knowledge
- Ability to make minor code changes when required
- Experience troubleshooting website issues
- Understanding of website performance and optimisation principles
- Familiarity with WooCommerce would be beneficial
- Ability to work independently and manage small tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills
Additional Information
While the role is primarily remote, applicants based in Newcastle or the surrounding areas are preferred, as occasional in-person meetings may be beneficial.
The position is expected to require around two hours per week initially, although additional ad-hoc work may be available when larger updates or troubleshooting tasks arise.
There is potential for the role to expand in the future depending on business requirements and performance.
Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
