The role
This is an exciting part-time (0.5FTE) opportunity for an Assistant Forensic Technician to join the University in an role which supports students and staff in Forensic Investigation teaching and research.
Sociology within the School of Social Sciences delivers a range of Crime Scene, forensic investigation and policing related modules which include a practicals in our crime scene flat and associated lab space. The role will primarily be to assist in the operation of the spaces:
assisting in the design and delivery of practical scenarios for teaching,
maintenance of equipment,
training users on specialist equipment,
assisting with research requests and outreach activities,
Due to scheduled teaching commitments, the hours of working will be a half-day Wednesday, and full days on Thursday and Friday.
About you
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to support our Forensic Investigation provision within the department. We would particularly welcome candidates who have knowledge of forensic investigation or experience in a related professional setting, who understand the importance of providing students with an excellent learning experience.
