Riverbank is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join the team.

This is a full position at 37.5 hours / 3 days per week.

This role includes a mixture of day and night shifts. Shift times will be - Days - 8:00 am – 8:30 pm / Nights - 8:00 pm - 8:30 am - Weekend work included.

Pay - £13.45 per hour

Riverbank is located in Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The service offers residential support for 24 people with mental health needs. We are located off a main road leading to the city centre and within walking distance of a beautiful park. Our team are dedicated to supporting residents to live independently in the community, increasing their quality of life. Riverbank offers a step-down service from hospital or locked rehabilitation units and also supports people who may require a step up from the community.

Riverbank has great development opportunities. Once you are comfortable as a support worker at Riverbank, there will be opportunities to develop into a senior support worker.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.

As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

Qualifications and Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
Empathy, understanding and patience

Competent in verbal and written English
A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
