Main Purpose of Role:

The Garage door Engineer must have an excellent understanding of all types of garage doors. The position consists of repairing and installing all five different types of garage doors (Canopy, Retractable, Side Hung, roller door and sectional garage doors).

To support and oversee more junior colleagues to ensure they can carry out their role successfully.

Scope of the role:

A garage door engineer installs, maintains, services & repairs all types of garage door.

The roll includes fitting & aligning doors, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.

Servicing motors and safety systems, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and all aspects of H&S.

Direct interaction with customers, to ensure satisfaction & professionalism.

Key Responsibilities :

Installing a minimum of 2 garage doors per day in alliance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Ensure safe and efficient loading of junior engineer’s vehicles.
Leasing with the installation coordinator and other engineering teams giving support with any technical
Communicate with customers face to face or via telephone to appease or rectify any potential installation issues
All work to be signed off by the customer on completion. Demonstration / handover required after each job
Repairing new and existing garage doors
Competence in using sealant / mastic and other materials such as timber & UPVC
Work carried out efficiently and to a high level reducing remedials/call
All remedials/call-backs due to negligence will be carried out in the engineers own time.
Daily collection of materials from local merchants i.e.: UPVC and timber
All customers to be given an ETA before arrival
Any discrepancies must be reported to your line manager before leaving site.

Full British Driving License - required
Previous Garage Door Experience - required
Communication skills

Vehicle provided including fuel card for work purposes only.
A Company Mobile phone.
Full uniform and PPE provided
23 Days holiday and an extra day for every year gained (capped at 25 days)
Attendance bonus paid quarterly
CSCS Training provided
Monday to Friday 7.30AM – 4.30PM
