Trainee Water / Utilities Surveyor- Full Training Provided
ABS are an industry-leading and forward-thinking organisation, working within the Utilities Infrastructure sector. We pride ourselves on being specialists in everything we do and we have a big year planned for growth. We have some brand new openings and are looking for a number of committed individuals with ideally with Plumbing experience or an interest who would like to train to become Utilities Surveyors.
The Role
As a Utilities Surveyor, you will be required to enter customers homes and initially be trained to survey and install water meters. You must be able to travel daily and possibly stay over over night where needed. Our current projects cover across a large section of Yorkshire and surrounding areas , however we do cover the whole of the UK.
Full training and support will be given so no experience is necessary, however having outstanding customer service skills, basic plumbing exposure, a positive and professional attitude along with the ability to be proactive and think ahead would be beneficial. From day one you will become an integral part of our busy team, no day is the same and you will have the opportunity to work for some of our key clients.
Our Ideal Candidate
The Trainee Utilities/ Water Surveyor role requires you to work to tight deadlines and requires someone who isn’t afraid to take ownership of their work. To be successful you must enjoy being busy, out and about in different locations daily. You will be provided with a company van, plus all the equipment you will need to carry out your duties.
Other key attributes include:
- Being able to work outdoors and not be phased by challenging environments such as bad weather conditions.
- Positive and flexible approach. Wiliness for daily travel and be able to stay away 4/5 nights a week if needed.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Ability to use a smartphone, a tablet or a laptop
- Exposure to software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF writer (Training will be provided)
- A clean, manual driving license (No previous convictions on your records)
- A Plumbing background or some exposure/ interest would be beneficial
- You will be required to have a DBS Completed for this role
