Job Overview
The Company
Africa Mobile Networks (AMN) uses its own in-house developed technology to provide mobile network services across Africa. Our state-of-the-art radio technology is packaged into a Network-as-a-Service offering which enables Mobile Network Operators to extend their coverage into rural and semi-rural areas, connecting people who have never been connected before. AMN provides digital connectivity to millions of people in multiple countries across Africa, enabling them to connect with their families and access essential life changing services.
In 2025 AMN exceeded having 5,000 network towers in operation and we continue to grow as we extend our services with a target to achieve over 10,000 towers in service within the next few years. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the Network Planning and Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) team at AMN and play a key role in connecting people and making a real difference to millions more lives in Africa.
The Role
We are looking for someone to fill the role of Network Implementation and Sustainability Planner to support the roll out of the next 5,000 AMN mobile network sites across Africa. The role encompasses two key functions within the business, covering both Network Planning and Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) activities.
The Network Implementation Planner part of the role involves responsibility for identifying and analysing potential sites for acquisition in the countries where AMN operates. The duties entail a rigorous evaluation process which involves assessing the suitability of each site, analysing survey results, optimising the site locations based on RF planning, and analysing site performance post-installation. The Network Implementation Planner also oversees the database of sites as they progress through the various stages towards becoming operational towers, ensuring that they meet the company’s standards and requirements.
The Sustainability Planner part of the role supports the implementation of related ESG policies and training, helping to set targets and goals, and supporting the monitoring of AMN’s progress towards those targets and goals. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the Environmental and Planning Department and other parts of the AMN organisation including AMN Operating Companies in Africa, Human Resources, and the Operations teams, developing and maintaining ESG best practices and procedures for the Company.
No specific experience is required for this position as full training will be provided for both parts of this role. What is important though is the right attitude and enthusiasm for the role and for our business, a willingness to learn, and an ability to work as part of a team.
