Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of buildings. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of tools and techniques, and contribute to high-quality construction standards. Duties
- Install new roofing systems in accordance with project specifications and schematics
- Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and assemble roofing materials
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate installation
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely on-site
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with other construction trades such as plumbing, masonry, or carpentry teams when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in roofing installation and repair
- Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
- Strong understanding of construction principles including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and general building practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights on roofs or scaffolding
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to undertake demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Relevant certifications or training in roofing or construction trades are advantageous
- A valid driving licence is essential
