About us

Philps bakery is a small business in Hayle. Our goal is to Bring a taste of Cornwall to all through our authentic Cornish Pasties. We are run by the same Cornish family since 1958. Our staff are an extension of our family and take pride in making and selling our traditional Cornish comfort food to the masses.

This is a temporary position with the view to be made permanent depending on a successful probationary period and company need.

Working as part of our well established pasty production team at our flagship bakery in Hayle to produce Cornish Pasties and a variety of baked goods.

Crimping Cornish Pasties (no experience needed), laying up the pasties, traying up the pasties, cleaning and any other resonable duties to help with pasty production.

This role will involve lifting of full trays of pasties and other manual tasks.

- Full time permanent job

- Probationary pay £12.71 Raising to £13 per hour after successful probationary period

- paid fortnightly

- uniform and full training provided (previous experience not required)

- 30 minute paid breaks

- 50% discount on Philp’s and ICED on the Quay products

- shift example 7am-2pm, and in the summer you are expected to do at least one 10am-5pm shift.

- you will be trained to level 2 in food safety and sit an allergen awareness course.

-This position also involves packing Cornish pasties within our postal department.

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour

Hayle TR27 4BJ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
