We are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Operative to join our on-site maintenance team during our busy holiday periods. This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, problem solving, and keeping things running properly.
You’ll play an important role in maintaining our accommodation, facilities, and public areas to a high standard, helping ensure guests enjoy a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment throughout their stay.
The Role
As a Maintenance Operative, you’ll assist with both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the resort, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the site.
The role involves a variety of general maintenance duties across lodges, facilities, infrastructure, and guest areas, working alongside the wider maintenance and resort teams.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out general maintenance and repair tasks across the resort
- Undertaking basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance where competent
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns
- Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks
- Reporting defects, hazards, and repair requirements to the Maintenance Manager
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times
- Using tools, equipment, and materials safely and correctly
- Assisting with lodge turnarounds, seasonal setup, and winterisation works
- Supporting the wider maintenance team and other departments where required
Health & Safety
Health and safety is a key part of this role. You will be expected to:
- Follow safe working practices and company procedures at all times
- Assist with risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Ensure the safety of guests, colleagues, and contractors
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly
- Ensure tools, equipment, and chemicals are stored and handled correctly
- Maintain high standards of site safety and housekeeping
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, handyman, or similar practical roles
- Basic multi-trade maintenance skills
- A practical and proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience within holiday parks, hospitality, or guest accommodation environments
- Knowledge of basic plumbing or electrical maintenance
- General building or property maintenance experience

Working Hours
Flexibility is essential due to the nature of the hospitality industry. This role will include weekends, bank holidays, and busy seasonal periods.
