Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Shipping Administrator to join our Supply Chain team in Hemel Hempstead on a 12‑month fixed term contract. This is a great opportunity to play an important role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods across our global operations. You will work as part of a close-knit team, coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and supporting the delivery of critical equipment to customers worldwide. This role office based 5 days a week.

This is a fast-paced and varied role where attention to detail, strong communication and a solutions-focused mindset are essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

Acting as a key point of contact for delivery queries, supporting both internal teams and customers
Coordinating import and export shipments across air and road freight
Preparing shipping and customs documentation, including export-controlled goods
Supporting customs clearance processes for UK imports
Tracking shipments and resolving any delays or issues proactively
Working closely with freight providers to manage timelines and optimise costs
Maintaining accurate records and supporting general administrative activities

Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing

What You’ll Bring

Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or import/export administration
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Confidence communicating with a range of stakeholders, including external suppliers
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
A proactive, problem-solving approach and the ability to work independently

Technical skills:

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience using courier platforms such as DHL, FedEx, UPS or TNT
Knowledge of customs processes and documentation
SAP experience is beneficial, but not essential
