Overview
We are seeking a skilled Architectural Technician / Architectural Technologist specialising in residential layout design. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative housing projects, utilising a broad range of design and technical skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed residential plans, collaborating with architects and clients, and ensuring designs meet all regulatory and aesthetic standards. A strong understanding of CAD software and system design is essential, alongside a keen eye for detail and a passion for sustainable living solutions.
Duties
- Develop comprehensive residential layouts using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, and MicroStation.
- Create detailed schematics, technical drawings, and 3D models employing SketchUp, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, and SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to translate conceptual ideas into precise technical documentation.
- Assist in the realisation of system designs for residential buildings, ensuring integration of structural and mechanical components.
- Prepare visual presentations and graphic designs to communicate design concepts effectively.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and client specifications.
- Contribute to project planning by producing construction documents and assisting in project management tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in residential architectural design or related field with a portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Experience with 3D modelling tools such as SketchUp, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, and system design software is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of construction processes and schematic development within architectural projects.
- Strong graphic design skills for creating compelling visual presentations.
- Familiarity with system design principles relevant to residential buildings including structural systems and building services.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy. Pay: £25,401.91-£49,168.45 per year
