Senior Java / Android Developer

Location: Remote (UK-based, with occasional office visits – typically 1 day per week)
We’re working with a growing technology business developing high-performance applications used at scale.

They’re looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong Android experience to join their engineering team.

The Role

Develop and maintain Java-based applications
Build and enhance Android applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features
Write clean, scalable, well-documented code
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Contribute to architecture and Agile delivery

Requirements

Strong Java development experience
Proven Android development (Android SDK, Android Studio)
Knowledge of MVVM, ViewModel, LiveData
Experience with Git
Strong problem-solving skills and team mindset

Desirable

Payment systems or transaction platforms
Embedded C/Linux experience
Performance optimisation or testing experience
Interest in security or cryptography
