Full job description

General builder/carpenter specialising in carpentry to work on construction projects.

About Us.

At Build by Sets, we build and manage beautiful, high-end private homes across Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire—blending traditional character with contemporary craft. Our projects demand thoughtful planning, tight financial control, and smart procurement from day one.

We are looking for a motivated and organised General Builder/ Carpenter to join our growing team working on a range of residential and heritage projects in and around the area.

You will have practical skills in working on elements of the build.

Responsibilities

Being on the tools producing work depending on the size of the project.
Take instruction from Site Foreman/woman ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules
Ensure high quality of work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building standards
Proven experience in general building and carpentry roles
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Relevant qualifications in carpentry
Valid management certification e.f SSSTS or supervisory training is advantageous

Requirements

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High level of attention to detail
Full UK driving licence and own vehicle essential
CSCS card beneficial but not essential
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
Live within 1 hour of Bruton, Somerset
