Job description:
AMH Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Practice Manager to oversee the operations of two Dental Practices in Hereford. These practices offer a range of dental services to the public, including both NHS and private care. The Manager will ensure the efficient and compliant operation of these practices, maintaining high standards of care and smooth business operations. This role is integral to supporting public healthcare in the UK. Hourly wage negotiable for highly qualified candidate.
Key Responsibilities
· Operations Management: Oversee and delegate the daily operations and coordination of the dental practices to ensure they run efficiently and effectively.
· HR Responsibilities: dealing with staff work place matters, onboarding of new staff and termination of staff
· Pay Role and Pension: Ensure timely payment of staff
· Compliance: Ensure all practices adhere to relevant regulations and standards, including those set by CQC, NHS and other governing bodies. Developing and updating policies. Compliance system is currently in place
· Risk Assessment: Identify and carry out relevant risk assessments
· Team Management: Directly manage and mentor head nurses at each practice, with indirect oversight of other staff including dental nurses, apprentice dental nurses, and receptionists. Foster a positive work environment and support professional development.
· Audits and Reporting: Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. Provide timely and accurate reports to the Directors.
· External Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact with external parties such as contractors, local councils, governmental organisations, and neighbouring businesses to ensure seamless operations and address any issues that arise.
· Coordination and Hiring: Assist directors in the coordination and hiring of staff. Organising training and enrolment of new staff onto courses
· Patient and Community Relations: Efficiently and professionally handle challenging patients, complaints, and interactions with surrounding businesses while fostering good relations.
· Manage Associates and Therapists: Managing associate desires and expectations and developing a relationship whereby associates may raise concerns and actively implement action plans to improve working conditions and create more dynamic and efficient work flows. Manage the performance and targets of dental Associates and Therapists to ensure that UDA (Units of Dental Activity) targets are met.
· Business Development: Identify opportunities for improvement and growth within the practices. Implement strategies to enhance patient satisfaction and business performance.
Required Qualifications
· Dental Nursing Qualification: Possess a recognised qualification in dental nursing.
· GDC Registration: Must be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).
· Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing dental practices, including staff supervision and operational oversight.
· HSE/CQC Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and CQC regulations as they pertain to dental practice.
· Dental Safety: Comprehensive understanding of dental safety protocols to ensure patient and staff safety.
Preferred Qualifications
· Leadership Skills: Training or certification in management and leadership skills.
· Additional Training: Courses or workshops related to management and team leadership.
Working Conditions
· Flexible Working: Flexibility is required to manage and support multiple sites
· Dynamic Environment: Ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment, handling various tasks and challenges that arise.
· Working Hours: 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday
· Travel Requirements: Mandatory travel to all practice sites; a valid driving license is required.
· Clinical Duties: Must be able to perform dental nursing duties when necessary to support practice operations.
