Neuspec - Behavioural Rehabilitation/ Therapy Assistant
Zero Hours Contract – Part-Time (9 hours per week with a gradual build up of support hours)
1 x adolescent male client located in Weobley, Herefordshire
This zero hours contract requires 9 hours of direct client support per week with hours initially introduced gradually. The hours exclude additional session report writing time, travel time, mileage, MDT meetings, clinical supervision, and administrative tasks. You may take on additional clients once onboarded to Neuspec.
We are looking for a Brain Injury Rehabilitation/ Therapy Assistant with a proven track record in supporting adolescent and young adults with complex and challenging neurobehaviours.
An understanding of traumatic brain injury and/or severe emotional and behavioural dysregulation is empirical to this role.
You must be able to evidence multi skills in behavioural role modelling, an understanding of risk and exploitation, experience in various practices in (behavioural) neurorehabilitation and an in-depth understanding and experience of handling clients with complex brain injuries, neurodivergence and conduct disorders.
You will be part of a behavioural specialist Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), including a Neuropsychologist, Occupational Therapist and Music Therapist, supporting a client across disciplines in neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, and clinical psychology.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Assistant to join our esteemed team. The Rehabilitation Assistant in this position will work with a neurodivergent male adolescent client who has sustained a traumatic brain injury and presents with complex rehabilitative support needs. These may include changes in personality, mood disorders, executive dysfunction, cognitive impairments, and emotional dysregulation. Our team is committed to implementing an individualised rehabilitation plan that encourages client autonomy through a biopsychosocial approach.
The role will involve supporting the client to access the community, including attending the gym, developing confidence using public transport, and engaging in activities linked to his interests, such as films, Lego, and computer games. You will also support the development of independent living skills, including cooking, laundry, household routines, and preparation for college attendance. A key aspect of the role will be building rapport gradually, providing consistent encouragement, and supporting the client to develop confidence, independence, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborative Care: Participate as a key member of a multidisciplinary team to plan, organise, and implement complex rehabilitation and therapy plans into clients’ daily living, supporting them in achieving goal-directed behaviours.
- Autonomous Work: Independently manage your caseload and provide one-on-one support to clients, helping them achieve their rehabilitation goals and enhance their independence through improving physical health and mental well-being.
- Reporting: Produce comprehensive session reports detailing client functionalities, impairments, progress, and any obstacles encountered. These reports will be shared with various professionals and organisations, including the Court of Protection, case managers, and treating clinicians.
- Coaching: Guide clients by modelling positive behaviours and serving as behavioural mentors, influencing complex functions, social engagement, and supporting clients through litigation proceedings.
- Support: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), administrative tasks, domestic duties, maintaining hobbies, attending medical appointments, and fostering social engagement.
- Training: Engage in continuous mandatory training, including adult and child safeguarding procedures, neuro and psychoeducation, and Neuspec’s operating procedures and software training, ensuring clinical excellence, confidentiality and professional conduct are maintained at all times.

Qualifications:
Specialities within the field of neurosciences or related fields.

Experience:
- A Clinical understanding of the brain and behaviour.
- Experience with multivariate mental health disorders.
- Experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with autism spectrum disorder.
- Clinical experiences in the fields of psychiatry/neuropsychiatry, psychology/neuropsychology, behaviour/ neurobehaviour, neurocognition and dysexecutive functions.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
- An enhanced DBS.
Desirable:
- A valid driving license and a car.

Immediate starters are preferred. Applicants who are available to begin case work within 2-3 weeks are strongly encouraged to apply.
Business car insurance is required; however, any premium increase will be reimbursed by Neuspec after the successful completion of the probationary period.
Additional paid hours include, clinical report writing, support planning admin, attending MDT meetings, clinical supervision, and client communication.
These are all billable. Any expenses incurred on the job will be invoiced.
