Job Purpose
As a Supply Chain Analyst, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our clinical teams have the equipment, consumables and medical supplies they need to deliver safe, high-quality patient care. Working closely with clinicians, operational teams, NHS Supply Chain and external suppliers, you’ll oversee stock management, procurement and inventory control across our surgical and diagnostic services. This is a varied role where your organisation, attention to detail and analytical skills will help maintain service continuity, support regulatory compliance, reduce waste and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
What you’ll be doing
-
Work as part of the WLC Operations team, collaborating closely with clinical colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic.
- Manage the receipt of all incoming deliveries, checking goods against orders, receipting stock accurately and distributing items to the correct departments.
- Receive, inspect and store stock and materials in the appropriate locations, identifying and reporting any discrepancies, damaged items or delivery issues.
- Carry out regular cycle counts of inventory and medicines, maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring agreed stock levels are consistently achieved.
- Liaise with suppliers to coordinate product recalls, arrange returns of incorrect or faulty deliveries, and ensure all returns are processed efficiently.
- Support routine stock control activities, including monthly high-cost consumable counts, quarterly consignment stock counts and the annual stock take.
What we’re looking for
-
Previous experience in stock control, inventory management or supply chain operations, ideally within a regulated environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy and analytical skills.
- Confident using stock management systems together with Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across clinical and operational teams.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and delivering excellent customer service.
- An understanding of procurement, inventory management and compliance requirements within a healthcare setting would be an advantage.
